I used Hydrate De Méthyle...oops, wrong side of the bottle...Methyl Hydrate. (Also used as fondue fuel-so no smoking while you work.)

This works well but evaporates fast. I used a 500ml bottle and still have more than half left. If you can, I think I would recommend having a container to soak everything in.

I did it a little at a time with paper towels and Q-tips. I found it would lead to build up in areas as the paint softened, leaving behind harder to remove piles of paint. Having a soak-tub would help with this I think.

Here we see the pieces masked and ready to be painted.
